it's snowing out there! for some reason i think it feels warmer while its snowing.  but maybe im just distracted by all the pretty and can't feel the cold as much.   things are good on this last day of 2009.  i woke up at 9am all by myself, had some coffee and a muffin, made a trip to the post office to ship one million packages, and got started on the etsy update early.  i still have my plan of couch and beer for tonight and im pretty happy with that.  and hey i truly hope all of you have a wonderful new years eve. <3<3<3

it's been forever since i've done an outfit post! i just got these twinkling tights in pewter from american apparel and i love them and totally reccomend them to all of you.  they come in all kinds of pretty colors and they shimmer and glow in the light.  plus here im wearing them over black leggings which really brings out the color and helps to beat the cold.  and i guess tomorrow night is new years eve.  i'm not all that excited because i've never really had a good new years, and this year looks like it'll be more of the same.  leonard will be in new york working and i have to work on friday morning so i'll get no kisses at midnight.  but with this weather and how busy i've been recently i don't think it'll be too much of a bummer.  i would be happy to spend the night watching the ball drop on tv from the couch with a couple beers.  i am, however, very excited for 2010!  i've got a good feeling about it and i am going to try really hard to stick with my resolution to start saving money and to get myself out of debt.

i found this pillow at the thrift store today and i thought it was pretty appropriate given that i kinda really do love you guys that read this and bare with me in my little corner of the internet.  i am finally, finally, finally done with all my christmas shopping.  theres one present left for leonard, the best one, the only one i really care about, and of course it hasn't come in the mail yet so he probably won't have it for christmas morning.  but you know what, worse things have happened.  so i'm over it.  tomorrow there will be a little mini etsy update and then im off into the winter night to new hampshire to meet leonard and his family where i will be spending the holiday.  im excited to be warm by a fire with a full belly and in my boyfriends arms.  i hope you all have a wonderful holiday and that where ever you are there is snow on the ground and presents galore.

ps: check audrey's lovely blog homerunballerina for her post about the vintage care package she won from me!

this is not an outfit post

photos by caroline

at work i have to wear head to toe american apparel.  its not hard because i like the clothes and so far i've come up with pretty mediocre outfits but today i was kind of proud of what i wore.  i guess the point of getting an extra job is to SAVE money but we'll see how that works out.  i was talking to this girl today about spending every paycheck on clothes and she said, "well the thing is, the longer you spend around these clothes, the more they grow on you." its way too true.  things that i thought i would never want, are now on my "to buy" list.    in other news, i still hate christmas.

i had never seen the beach in snow

leonard and i spent the weekend in a blizzard.  we were out on in long island where the storm hit the hardest but we kept warm and well-fed by the woodstove and under blankets.  its the most wonderful thing to be stuck in a house for a few days with a person you love.  see what a good girlfriend i am?  i give foot massages.
