i'm so sorry for being mia over here and also i'm so sorry i have been so slow at commenting back on your wonderful blogs but i promise i'm working on it!   the truth is that i've been feeling pretty uninspired lately and i fully blame the winter weather.  Well the weather and the fact that i am still trying to catch up from the holidays moneywise which is always a bummer. BUT say goodbye to negative nancy forever!  from this moment on, i am bucking up.  For me, winter is the absolute most challenging for fashion, it's hard being a southern girl in north.  i am constantly amazed and impressed with you guys and your layering abilities.    But I've made a to-find list and I'm going to ravage the thrift stores for soft oversized sweaters to wear with leggings and boots, vintage ruffle blouses and dresses with floral print, bows, collars, or lace not to mention my forever obsession: vintage hats.  I am also daydreaming about my future life with leonard.  A life with our own bed, our own house.  I know it won't be all fun times and spending every day in bed together.  But I'm also looking forward to just everything in between.  I'm sorry my blog has turned into girl talk 90% of the time, I guess I was born with too much girl talk in me.

i have been searching for a vintage turban and something awesome in leopard print for months and this week i found both things!  i probably won't be able to wear the hat as much as i'd like to.  only because it's not as easy as you'd think to build an outfit around a loud and paisley headpiece but still i love it and its exactly what i've been looking for.  including, i feel very much like a gypsy when i've got it on.  the velvet leopard print leggings on the other hand will surely turn into a year-round wardrobe staple for me.

this weekend is the first weekend in a long string of weekends that leonard is not coming to visit me.  i have forgotten what to do with myself on a day off without him.  theres always the internet and bad tv and cat naps, but right now none of that is cutting it.  also i think ive hit the winter wardrobe block.  times like these i wish i still lived in the south where winter is this mild little thing and you can wear shorts and tights year round!  the grass is always greener but if you live in the south or if you live in the same city as your boyfriend i am jealous.  okay so maybe im just in a negative nancy mood.

leonard sent me these scans of old vogue covers and of course now i'm just dying to read through every one of these: college fashions, pre-spring hats, the bride book, summer holidays!  what i wouldn't give for 20 minutes in a room alone with these.  how are you so awesome always vogue?

it's snowing out and i wish i could just sit on the couch all day watching bad tv and drinking hot chocolate.  but no such luck, i have a lot left on my to-do list.  oh did you guys see the changes made on my blog?  tieka did it for me!  i am so happy with it and she could not have been more awesome during the process, thanks friend!

this morning i recieved my last christmas present (to me, from me).  these shoes in the mail from forever 21!  i've been in desperate need of a new pair of black heels and plus they are actually really warm and comfortable too.  but now it's time for me to stop internet shopping and start saving money.   i must keep up with my new years resolutions for at least the month of january.
