sometimes i can't believe how lucky i am to have the help of such talented photographer friends (and boyfriend).  they're all such good sports to put up with me and my internet aspirations!   daniela is one of those and i recently commissioned her to spend the weekend with me thrifting and dreaming up outfit photos around the north shore.  i love partnering with her because everything she does inspires me and she has this way of coaxing me out of my comfort zone.  go look at her etsy store to see some examples of her styling on herself and you'll see what i mean.  i can't wait to post the rest of the shoots, this is just the first set!  of course we browsed a little bit after picture taking and i ended up going home with two books.  i couldn't resist the pretty binding and perfect titles, and i'm hoping to learn a thing or two about The Real World and The Foolish Gentlewomen!

lady america turns 235!

we spent america's birthday week hiding out on the delaware water gap with my side of the family.  oops this whole post will be old news if you're friends with me on instagram.  so we went on vacation and i got to see my dad, my little brothers, and my favorite poodle-puppy.  on the 4th we watched an outrageous display of fireworks that should not have been attempted by non-professionals and by my definition it was a pretty successful holiday weekend.  of course i made sure there was time to visit a few thrift stores along the way and i ended up with a gigantic haul of three trash bags filled to the brim.  my favorite find from the weekend is this 1990s cropped jean jacket which i could never part with but there's tons more for the shop update next week!

that's it yall, i'm off on a mini vacation to the river with the boyfriend and my family.  am so excited to see my two brothers, my dad, and my favorite puppy dog in the world!

i'm especially excited to do this post about kelly lauren.  it's funny because i was e-friends with kelly before she had her blog or her etsy shop.  even though she's on the other side of the country we have a mutual BFF and as soon as i saw her facebook profile i just knew we'd be fast friends.  i'm secretly hoping to one day meet her in real life!  it's been so amazing watching her store and blog grow and gain followers from the very beginning.   i mean just look at her outfits, who wouldn't fall for her adorable style and sweet nature right away?  i showcased a few items i'm in her shop that i'm currently lusting after as well as some of my most favorite outfits off her blog.  shes's a keeper and if you're not already a follower of hers, you should be!
