i finally have a few pictures from the apartment to show you!  this is our living room.  my boyfriend is the furniture connoisseur in this family so i can't take credit for the pieces (most of which he found at the thrift store!) but i did help decide where things were put.  i love this place and would like to do a whole post dedicated to showing it off but i've been pretty busy watching really old episodes of the real world on youtube and making flower crowns.

s/s 2013 inspiration

Spring has finally sprung!  I'm in the process of putting my winter coats in storage and bringing out all of my favorite shorts and dresses.  Lately I'm inspired by 1960s beauty advertisements and am planning a full summer of teased hair, platforms shoes, and hoop earrings.

a few weeks ago nesbit salon invited me to participate in a vintage trunk show they're hosting this May along with some other ladies from richmond.  this morning we had a photoshoot for the event and i was thrilled to get my hair and makeup done by the super talented team there!  i wish i could figure out how to do this to myself so i could look like the 1960s everyday but i'm sure that i could never reproduce this without the help of professionals.  luckily it was a real spring dream day and i was able to take full advantage of the sunshine, the makeup, and my lady friend kimchi who agreed to take these shots of me in a bamboo forest this afternoon.
