east of eden ruined me in the best way; one of the most touching and affecting books i have ever read. i hope you enjoy it, and someday when we meet for tea we can chat all about it.
and never never never watch the movie. i know james dean is enticing, but trust me it is a mistake. a terrible no good very bad disheartening mistake.
