i was asked by
andwhatelseisthere to showcase my favorite jewels. here they all are, a mess and piled together in this old box. i couldn't pick one over the other, i love them all equally. now its your turn! i would like to see all your cherished necklaces, rings, and bracelets, watches, barrettes, and any other shiny pretty little things.

Goosebumps. My Great Grandmother passed away years ago (12 to be exact). As a youngin' I would often sift through her jewelery box and dream of the high society (pssh) parties I could attend wearing her jewels. Fast forward to modern day (I am now 26, not 13). I had my family over for a dinner celebration. My mother usually brings little treats she is getting rid, this time she brought my Great Grandmothers jewelery box, filled with her jewels.
The reason for this post is that the jewelery box you have shown in these photos is the EXACT jewelery box my Great Grandmother had. I am not sure if this box was passed down to you or thrifted, but my family is originally from up north (we are all in Florida now)and the story goes that my Great Grandfather bought the box before he went off to WWII. My Grandfather (the Greats son) tells me the box was purchased in PA. Do you know where yours originates? Well, that is all, I suppose I should put the computer down before I begin a memoir.
Lovely, how charming really. ;)
