this is not an outfit post

photos by caroline

at work i have to wear head to toe american apparel.  its not hard because i like the clothes and so far i've come up with pretty mediocre outfits but today i was kind of proud of what i wore.  i guess the point of getting an extra job is to SAVE money but we'll see how that works out.  i was talking to this girl today about spending every paycheck on clothes and she said, "well the thing is, the longer you spend around these clothes, the more they grow on you." its way too true.  things that i thought i would never want, are now on my "to buy" list.    in other news, i still hate christmas.

American Apparel clothing is so expensive in Australia so I don't bother. If you ever want to send me some feel free :P

Oh & I hate Christmas too. Bah Humbug~

I love the simplicity of American Apparel but I have yet to own anything from them. I really want some of their mustard skinnies...I love mustard too much.

I really do like your outfit, especially those tights. And the glittery(?) top. Super cuteee. It seems to be growing on you in a positive way. :}

Haha, I hate xmas too ;) I know exactly what you mean about being around something enough and eventually growing a taste for it. I used to waitress when I first moved to NYC and I would hate the food at the restaurant I worked at in the beginning, and then the more I worked there, the more I would crave it!

Ive never bought anything from AA.. but that's only because we dont have one here.. which is pretty sad, I think. They have amazing basic stuff.

...why hate Christmas? But Im not one to talk, really. This season tends to get me down... too much hollow generosity. (yey for being scrooge-like)

xx

ugg! I hear ya! I hate christmas too! It takes my bank account down to 0! The only part I like about christmas is the pretty snow flakes, the food and the love. Merry Christmas Doll

I understand; I find it hard for myself too when I used to work in retail and every day I was exposed to clothes.I feel sometimes that I am shophaholic. I try to reason myself but then tend to obsess about the piece I have seen. The only job where I could save was when I was working in a pastry shop and it was fun too. I love chocolate croissant and croissant. You could be dancing jazz dance; I like the way you put your clothes together. I am trying to clean my thoughts as the song Rudolph the reindeer is stuck into my head. I need a song cleanser. Have a good day!

Oh the same thing happened to me when I worked at AA. At one point, when it first came out, I had the damn mélange pocket skirt in every color it came in. I always had trouble with the things I wanted being too short though, because I rode my bike to work every day, right down mainstreet.

Anyways, as soon as I stopped working there it began to wear off in a hurry, to the point where I can barely even look at something AA without wanting to gag...which is sad because some of it doesn't even suck!

Ooh, I do want some nail polish though. Have you tried any of it??

Hey,

Thanks so much for your sweet comments. I'm glad you like my blog! I'm a novice at this, so still learning a lot. I've followed you for a while on Lookbook and I'm glad to have finally stumbled upon your blog. Want to trade links, as they say? Cheers, Annie.

I love those leggings <3

Its hard being around clothes all the time. I find myself buying items I thought I never would too!

I can't pull off the "total AA" outfit. I end up looking like an 80's work out video. Anyway, you look adorable! and here's the video tutorial i used to make my hair bow :)

even though I hate AA (but secretly love the cardigans I have from there, and am planning to stock up on their nailpolish), this outfit you've created is quite adorable...and I have been a fan of that print (from the leggings) for a long time...
