secrets and an adventure on wheels

black velvet big floppy bow: california select
olive scarf: h&m
suede jacket: thrifted
silk shirt: thrifted
grey ankle zipper jeans: american apparel
black floral keds: thrifted

ladies, i have figured out the secret to making the "bump it" work magic on your hair.  if you are like me your hair does not take well to teasing, mine inevitably becomes a very scary and huge tangled rats nest instead of a soft and pretty brig bardot do.  anyways, the secret is...mousse and dirty hair!  i found a can of mousse (undoubtedly from 1993 or so) under the sink yesterday and in combination with my unwashed hair i finally came up with something close to what i've been trying for.   also yes, i did buy a bump it.  and caroline got one too!  hers looks better though because she’s blond and everything to do with hair seems to look better on blonds.

today we are taking an adventure with a real life car! caroline's mom is kindly making us lunch and then donating her automobile for our thrifting purposes.  the goods will be up for sale on thursday for another update!   im going to be double productive this week to try and make up for last, and also i have decided to stop bringing my debit card with me to work at american apparel so as to curb the ridiculous spending.  this velvet bow will (hopefully) be the last purchase i make for at least a few weeks.  but what a great last purchase it was, i have been wearing it to bed i like it so much.

Man, I would love to NEED a bump-it to make my hair poof. I, unfortunately (& fortunately, I suppose), was born with the big hair gene.

Also, those photos are very beautiful.

that last picture is really awesome, and your hair looks great!

Twila said...

First off the bow is amazing!! I also have the same problem with trying to get fluffy high hair and it just laying flat after a good tease. So I just got The Big Sexy Hair dry shampoo product and it works wonders. It makes your hair always work like when it has mouse and it is dirty. You should definitely try it out!
