no more coats and wools and knits and furs

vintage trench coat: thrifted
vintage scarf: thrifted
silky crop top: american apparel
chambray full woven skirt: american apparel
flower tights: thrifted
black satin bow heels: thrifted

i watched an incredible pbs documentary on the life and times of frida kahlo last night.  what an inspiring life she led.  i think some people are just born artists, while the rest of us have to slowly learn how to make the most of our imagination.  i wish i would paint more, and plant flowers, and put them in my hair everyday!  the weather is beautiful today and boston has come back to life full force.  who knew there were all these people living here?  i guess we really do just hibernate in our apartments all winter long.

It's sad to say goodbye to wintercoats, but I do love wearing spring dresses. You and your outfit are absolutley lovely!

I think we are all born to free all the imagination from our minds. Artist or not, were all creative and intresting people. I have to check out that Frida Kahlo documentry...she's an inspiration to me.

Frida is one of my favorite artists. She is/was spectacular. Even the way she was injured was a work of art.

Very cute, your hair is to die for. I have been trying to grow my hair for 5 years now and it is only getting shorter (major split ends and dryness)

Gorgeous! Yes Frida is very inspirational. Planting flowers & wearing them in your hair...sounds lovely. We are heading into winter here in Australia so I am very jealous of you!

your'e so dreamy and frida kahlo is soo wonderful. I saw an exhibit of her work in San Francisco last summer and she made my heart hurt - in the best ways, you know? Ahhhh spring just has a great feel to it, doesn't it? Winter is weird...

xo, glad to have you back to the internet world, seeing as how that's the only way I can have Kennedy!

this is just gorgeous. i love the bows on those shoes, and i'm super jealous of your gorgeous hair.

i'm definitely an apartment hibernator in the winter. i barely leave house except for work (especially when we have 23+ inches of snow!).

your scarf is a gorgeous colour! suits your skin tone and everything.
i actually kind of got the idea of book lists from you! i saw your end-of-year wrap up of all the books you'd read and i wished i'd kept a list of my reading list last year... i think it would stagger even me!

Everything about your outfit is so beautiful :) Oh and what was the name of that documentary? I've only seen 'Frida', but that sufficed to make me extremely intrigued with who Frida Kahlo was as a person as well as artist.

ps; Thank you for the compliment on my necklace! I made it myself, actually

my sister did a project on frieda kahlo and from the summary i read, she sounded fascinating! i agree with you ... some people are just born artists! some people are also born beautiful -- like you! :)

These are beautiful!

I spent some time in Boston over the holidays and absolutely loved all of the snow and colder weather that we don't often get to experience in the south. Though, I can see why in large doses it may lead one into hibernation.

your blog is quite lovely too!

Oh I totally know what you mean. When I read about people so passionate with what they do I get pretty jealous wishing I could feel even half of what they feel about something. So happy that the weather is getting warmer now though :)
