la france

well caroline and i finally got into paris after thirty-odd hours of travel which included two buses, three planes, a train, and three continents.  the first thing i noticed is the air.  its one of the oldest cities in the world and it smells just like the clouds.  i was very nervous to try to speak my high school french so i let caroline do most of the talking which left me time to focus on eating as much bread and cheese and sweets as possible.  we were there for a little over a week but when i think back on it everything is jumbled like we were in a rush.

i was in paris four years ago. it is a stunning city, so captivating. and i found the people delightful. we stayed in the latin quarter, walking distance to the sienne and the notre dame. hope you enjoy your visit. be sure to check out the flea markets too!

Oh, how wonderful! I lived in Paris for two summers and they were predictably magical and filled with love and strange people and strange ideas and strange memories.

I'm leaving in three days to move to Avignon for nine months and I haven't even cleaned my room, yet or packed a single sock. Quel horror.
