trials and tribulations of hair

i'm pretty unfortunate when it comes to anything hair and makeup.  i guess i just never learned how but recently i have been trying to make up for lost years with internet tutorials.  this sounds easy and it sure does looks easy when the girl in the video demonstrates, but for me, it almost always ends in disaster.  so you can imagine my excitement when for the first time ever i found a hair tutorial that i can actually replicate!  it's three twisted buns by Caroline.  i've been a fan of her dreamy flickr photos forever because they all seem to look like she took them by accident and she's forever the effortlessly chic and gamine type with perfect hair.  anyways here is what it looked like on my head, i was a little proud of myself today.

We are in the same boat. I never got the hang of make up and hair. Maybe I too should start doing the tutorials.

looks great Kennedy... and i totally identify with the late-bloomin' thing for makeup and hair. it's strange, my twin sister was always way more experimental and eventually really good at it, and i was left in the dust and now i'm HOPELESS. i can't even wear a bright lipstick without feeling like a clown or getting it all over my face and teeth. and my hair! anyway - this isn't about me. i think you look wonderful so you must be doing something right! and the hair is great, well done!

(and tara-lynn? if lipstick makes you feel ok, go for it. you wear it so nicely that i often try not to feel jealous when i see photos of you!)

ugh. i know the feeling. i'm currently growing out a super short pixie and tried this 'do too and it worked wonders ... made me feel all 20s-like and flapper-y. i think you look adorable. just know you're not alone in the hair doing department ... :)

aw great! i never used to do stuff with my hair either, and i didnt really notice that over the last years iv really grown in the hair doing department until i did that photobooth post a few months ago. everyone was like, you style your hair so many different ways! all i can say is bobby pins are a girls best friend! rag curls are the best and just keep messing around with it!

ahh, you silly girl, your hair and makeup always looks perfect! but i do love this triple bun thingy, i wonder if it works with shorter hair as well? just got rid of my long locks and i'm sorta regretting it after seeing this :( :)

congrats you made it. i gave up the idea a long time ago. anyway, the long locks're gone now. i'm going shorter soon - to make up for lost time (too). haha.
