lounge out

(vintage jean jacket, vintage silk shirt, vintage polka dot pants, vintage coral flats, dooney and bourke tote)

yesterday was just too nice to spend indoors staring at a computer screen.  i moved myself to the backyard and spent a few hours re-reading a brig bardot biography and enjoying some sunshine on my face.  today its all gloom and doom and rain but its a good thing because im not tempted to go out and buy cigarettes.  ive made it three days without smoking!  everyone keeps telling me that the first days are the hardest and i sure hope they're right.  if any of you have done this already, you're my hero!  and i'd love to hear your stories and advice about quitting.

Congratulations! I've quit for a year now, and it's always the first couple days that are the hardest, because I would always just pretend that I hadn't started to quit yet. It's easy now that I haven't smoked in a long time! so good luck : )

Sometimes I feel really bad for staying indoors on the internet when it's a nice day outside. Good for you to not have done that, haha!

THAT's your backyard?! I love it!

My dad who quit smoking said he tried many times but found it easier when he reduced his cigarette "intake" instead of just going cold turkey. All the best with that!

first, I am so proud of you for quitting! stick to it. For me, I was never much of a smoker to begin with... but I'm going to email you to help inspire you to keep going!
Also, your hair has been looking more gorgeous than usual, miss! so voluptuous and curly and pretty! And also, again, you have been killing it with the lipstick lately. that is the perfect shade on you. =)

I quit smoking a couple of months ago and yes, your friends were right, the first days (i would say the first couple of weeks) are terrible. It took me a month or so to forget the gesture of lighting a cigarette after a meal, that was the hardest part (I used to smoke 20 cigarettes a day sometimes even more when I was in a bad mood and "loved" to smoke after lunch/dinner).
So, dear Kennedy, if I made it you can made it! Trust yourself and don't ever give up. You will win :) x

You are too gorgeous!! Love the dotty pants! Yay I quit New Years Day as im getting wrinkles ha dont even really think about it now first two weeks was murder xx

One of the ways I quit was by setting up weekly gifts equivalent to the cost of a week of cigarettes. I'm in Canada and smoked half a pack a day, so that was almost $30 a week which left me with money for some pretty good treats for myself. Setting the gift in advance really helped me- that way everytime I wanted a cigarette I would just think about that record or a new lipstick and ask myself which I wanted more. Pretty underwear pretty much always wins out.

Congrats! And the first month I find was the hardest. I've been cigarette free for close to three years now---chewing gum or popping a mint helped me when I was craving.

Gosh, your blog is so so so brilliant. There are not so many people who truely inspire me in the way I dress and I think you could become one of them too. Already looking forward to your next post!
