the farm

Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

photos by ryan

when we first met my boyfriend told me that he grew up on a rural farm where there were wild peacocks. i didn't believe him until i saw it was my own eyes, but now i can confirm that everything he told me was true.  would you like another true story about our first date?  we barely knew each other but he invited me to go to a different state on a schoolbus for a show in an abandoned warehouse with all of his friends.  i was very nervous because my least favorite things in life are loud noises, cold spaces, and people i don't know very well.  thankfully i was much braver in my youth because i went!  i don't remember much about being there but the whole way home i had my head on ryan's shoulder and after that we were a couple.

When I lived in Los Angeles, on a little hill right behind Dodger stadium, there were wild peacocks that lived on my street! No one ever believed me, until they would come over and see a giant-ass, green and purple jewel-colored bird sitting on the telephone wires. I have no idea how they got there, but they made that grimy little neighborhood feel magical.

They also make the most awful noises, like a dying cat.

That story is pretty amazing, Dave and I have been together just as long and it seems like a flash. he grew up in a bell tower when he migrated here, so sometimes I call him Quasimodo. Oh and of course you look wonderful!

Congrats on being together that long, and these photos are really beautiful. Love those sunglasses. How old were you when you met? Such a dreamy story, you seem to have the dreamiest life.
