the country

we are so lucky to have this spot to run off to.  it was refreshing to be out of cell service range and away from all everyday life for a little while.  one day we took a walk in the woods and came up on a nest of about twenty deer.  we crouched down real low and watched them for a while until they spotted us and took off.  and thank you tara-lynn for keeping me warm all week with the knit cambridge cowl.

What a marvelous get away. Everything looks blanketed and warm and cold all at once.

The best kind of weather for holing up inside and venturing out to say hello to deer!

looks so cosy there. what a little getaway near a lake side. i love beaches in winter, wispy and fierce wind in my air and the never ending comfort of being warmed by the fire at the end of the day. french toast in bread and late night soup. the cottage is one of the things i miss most about living in canada.
