food and friends and a little witchcrafting

something very special happens when it is the end of the summer and a best friends birthday and everything aligns correctly so that it is decided that six friends will spend the weekend together instead of just talking about it.  the first night was about all of us laying on the grass laughing and talking and watching shooting stars appear in the sky like we brought them with us.  the next day i discovered riesling wine!  it tastes just like fruit juice and the girls had to keep returning to the vineyard to purchase more and more bottles throughout the day.  by night time leonard made a feast of filet mignon topped with shrimp scampi, blue cheese mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and raspberry cream pie for dessert.  later we danced in the kitchen and gave at least 100 toasts to the good life.  i left feeling fully inspired and just brimming with plans for future fun and projects.  coming soon a trip to ecuador in january 2011 plus a new and improved etsy shop and blog is currently in the making.
