yesterday seychelle and i found some forest behind a parking lot and here are the pictures.  i never used to wear this much black but i think it has something to do with getting older.  also because of getting older there are some things i don't think i can wear anymore without feeling like i've put on a costume (knee socks, bows, most hats).  good thing it's october and we're approaching the one day it's acceptable to wear a costume! please help me think of any/all costumes that would require knee socks, bows, or hats.  preferably all at once.

i should've posted these right when i got back from new york (2 wks ago) but oh well i'm late.  for 3 days in early september i was hosted by Emma who is awesome and happens to be the perfect example of a California beach babe.  i didn't bring my real camera so all i have to offer are these iphone shots but you get the idea.  we went to a museum, ate at northeast kingdom, i bought a whole new outfit at american apparel,we saw samantha pleet at in god we trust, i went dancing, we went to a picnic and i met many new fashion friends and saw all of my favorite girls (except sarah).

did you know that i currently live on an island within walking distance of the beach? it's practically a tropical paradise but shamefully i haven't been taking advantage this summer.  i've barely been to the beach 5 times! of course now that the end is in sight, i've been much better and yesterday i even stayed long enough to procure a sunburn.  (have since decided that tan lines are weird and made a mental note get some spf 1000 asap.)

i've just returned home from a particularly fruitful buying trip with loads of new inventory for the store and fresh love for the state of virginia.  even though i'm still profoundly exhausted from driving over 800 miles i had to share these brilliant photos taken by my friend and master photographer anna li.  i'm the kind of girl that gets real skittish when someone tries to take my picture and if i'm uncomfortable at all you can always see it written on my face.  you certainly can't tell that from the likes of these but i promise you that has almost nothing to do with me and only speaks to how wonderful anna is.
