young adult life

because leonard and i have just moved in together, and because yesterday was our two year anniversary i thought it would be fun to document a day in our life.  isn't this fun?  first off, we had a plan to go to the thrift stores in search of a dresser.  our bedroom is still mostly bare so we've been scouring craigslist for weeks with no luck.  but today was the day!  we found a beautiful dream dresser for $100 at a favorite thrift spot so leonard rented a u-haul van up the street and we happily loaded up and left.  this part isn't pictured because i hadn't thought up the idea for this post yet.  i got a little grumpy after that but quickly realized i was just hungry and luckily karl's sausage kitchen is right across the street from the thrift store.  once we were inside we saw it wasn't a lunch kind of place, but len still ended up buying about $40 worth of sausage while i got one box of my favorite raspberry candy.  after that we went in search of a real lunch and found ourselves at american barbecue.  i love bbq because it means lots of meat and southern cuisine so i was happy again and devoured a whole plate of pulled pork, coleslaw, cornbread and sweet tea.  by this time it was late afternoon so we decided to drive into newburyport to have a coffee and a look at the ocean.  on the way there leonard pointed out houses he liked and i always agreed with him.  we both decided that we like our town ipswich better than newburyport but the ocean was lovely and the coffee was good.  when the sun started to set it got very cold and i wasn't wearing socks so i decided we should drive on home.  once at home i got motivated for a minute and thought about organizing my closet but instead we re-arranged the bedroom to fit the new dresser and now the whole space feels much bigger and the vibe is considerably different.  maybe feng shui is real, i made a mental note to research it further on the internet tomorrow.  i remembered that the super full moon is tonight i have been talking about it all week so i made leonard come with me to look at it.  i had a midnight snack of bbq leftovers, put on pjs, brushed my teeth and now it's time for bed.

Looks like a really lovely day. Congratulations on you two year anniversary and moving in together. How exciting! The dresser is gorgeous and I'm lusting after a new dresser myself. Thanks for the inspiration. I wish my apartment had hard wood floors too, but we're stuck with this thick hunter green carpet. ugh. Well, you look adorable anyway and I can't wait to see more of your place as you get more settled. Have fun!
XOXO
